Some 1,500 anti-government protesters in Bangkok have broken into the compound of the Royal Thai Army headquarters in their bid to topple the current government. The largely non-violent action could escalate, police say.
"We want to know which side the army stands on," shouted one protester, according to Reuters.
The protesters gathered at the compound's front gates, forcing them open and flooding the premises, as they demanded for the head of the country's armed forces generals to choose whether they stand with the people or with the government of PM Yingluck Shinawatra. This took place while 100 soldiers stood guard.
Furthermore, the Bangkok police now fears that the situation could indeed escalate into a violent confrontation.

Arab-Israeli restaurant owner Jawdat Ibrahim is offering a 50% discount to diners who turn off their phones while they enjoy their meals, according to BetaBeat.
If you want food at half price, you'll have to forgo the opportunity to Instagram your plate. Phones must be turned off and kept off of the table.
Ibrahim owns Abu Ghosh near Jerusalem. He told the Associated Press that he decided to change “the culture of eating” after he saw diners glued to their screens. He said people would even ask him to reheat their food after neglecting it for the sake of their smartphones.
Almost every customer has taken advantage of the offer since it began this week, so Ibrahim admits he has taken a financial hit.

Telefon pintar Jolla pertama ini dilengkapi dengan skrin bersaiz 4.5-inci qHD, cip pemprosesan dwi-teras Qualcomm Snapdragon, memori 1GB RAM, ruangan storan 16GB, dan juga kamera belakang 8-megapixel. Ia turut hadir dengan sokongan HERE Maps, disamping membawakan Yandex.Store untuk pemasangan aplikasi Android.

Shimizu Corporation, a Japanese architecture and engineering firm, has a plan to effectively turn the moon into a giant solar power plant, reports Inhabitat.
It proposes building a massive collection of solar panels (a "Luna Ring") 6,800 miles long by 12 miles wide on the moon's surface. That's certainly a heavy-duty construction job for human beings, so Shimizu plans to get the work done with robots, only involving humans in supervisory roles.
Once complete, this hypothetical plant could continuously send energy to "receiving stations" around the globe by way of lasers and microwave transmission. This idea gets around two major hurdles for solar power, as there is no weather or darkness to curb electricity production on the moon. If operating in ship-shape, Shimizu says it could continuously send 13,000 terawatts of power back to Earth. By comparison, it took the United States all of 2011 to generate 4,100 terawatts of power.
It's big thinking that we're skeptical will ever see fruition, but we like where Shimizu's coming from. It believes that "virtually inexhaustible, non-polluting solar energy is the ultimate source of green energy that brings prosperity to nature as well as our lives. Shimizu Corporation proposes the Luna Ring for the infinite coexistence of mankind and the Earth."

Apple Mungkin Hasilkan iPad 12.9 Inci (RUMOR)

Apple plans to introduce a 12.9-inch iPad next year to compete with its rivals Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics that have continued to release bigger tablets, sources said Tuesday. Currently, the biggest iPad is 9.8 inches.
The move is seen as the U.S. firm’s effort to meet growing demand for bigger displays on smart devices amid a slowdown in conventional PC demand.
“Apple’s local first-tier display supplier is now producing a 12.9-inch Retina Display to be used in the new iPad, which will be coming out sometime next year,” an official at a local Apple supplier in Korea told The Korea Times by telephone Tuesday.
“That display is now being manufactured by the supplier's plant in Korea,” he added.
The move is seen as the U.S. firm’s effort to meet growing demand for bigger displays on smart devices amid a slowdown in conventional PC demand.

An Israeli woman is being fined NIS 500 ($140) every day for refusing to circumcise her one-year-old-son, Israel’s Channel 2 reported today. There is no sweeping legal requirement for Jews in Israel to circumcise their children, but the woman is undergoing a divorce process at the Haifa Rabbinical Court, and her husband has appealed to the court to pressure the woman into circumcising the son.
“I’ve been exposed to a lot of information about circumcision and decided not to proceed with the circumcision,” the woman told Channel 2. “I have no right to cut at his genitals and to maim him, and the court has no authority to force me to.” Her lawyer also said the rabbinical court does not have the authority to enforce the procedure, but the secular family court would. The woman went on to add she was unemployed, and cannot afford to pay the fine, which already adds up to NIS 2,500 ($700). She said her husband originally had no objections to avoiding circumcision when the child was born, but changed his mind during the divorce process.
The rabbinical judges in the case said in their decision the woman was opposing the circumcision as a means to bringing her husband back to her. They also referred explicitly to the growing debate around ritual male circumcision elsewhere in the world, and voiced their fear of the precedent that could be created by a Jewish Israeli woman allowed not to circumcise her son.
“We have witnessed for some time now public and legal struggles against the brit milah in many countries in Europe and in the United States,” the judges wrote. “The public in Israel has stood as one man [sic] against these trends, seeing them as yet another aspect of displays of anti-Semitism that must be combatted. How will the world react if even here the issue of circumcision is given to the discretion of any person, according to their own beliefs?”
Religious courts in Israel hold complete sway over all matrimonial issues, including divorce. An appeal to the Haifa District Court by the woman was turned down, and the woman said the only resort left now is an appeal to the Supreme Court.
